Ultrasonix 's Winning Combination Results in Multi-system Installations in Infertility and IVF Clinics
Richmond, BC - June 5, 2008 - Ultrasonix Medical Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of high quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging systems announced today the installation of five (5) Sonix ultrasound systems at Boston IVF, Boston, Massachusetts. Over the past 12 months, Ultrasonix has experienced substantial growth in the US Infertility and IVF markets, with several multi-system installations. What has contributed to this success? "We listen to our customers and look to fully understand not only their imaging requirements, but their workflow and overall business requirements as well. This allows us to utilize our unique system architecture and quickly respond with products and services that fulfill those requirements" said Mr. Joe Bjorklund, Ultrasonix VP of North American Sales. Ultrasound is typically used for Antral Follicle Count, Pelvic Ultrasound, Sonohysterogram (SHG) and surgical procedures utilizing ultrasound guidance in VOR and ET .

Ultrasonix ongoing commitment to this market segment is demonstrated by the release of several new ultrasound enhancements for the Infertility and IVF market. Ultrasonix now offers advanced 3D/4D software and a 4DEC9-5/10 mm 3D/4D endocavity transducer. This technology allows the clinician to rotate the image of the uterus to obtain the best diagnostic picture. "The 3D capability allows us to eliminate hysteroscopy for the majority of our patients without sacrificing accuracy" said Dr. Michael Opsahl, Medical Director of Northwest Center for Reproductive Sciences in Kirkland, Washington.
Workflow and data management is significantly enhanced with the introduction of these new enhancements. One important function is the seamless connection with PracticeHwy.com eIVF server. Exam and patient information is transferred from the IVF server to the ultrasound system, eliminating redundant data entry. Images and measurement data are transferred from the ultrasound system to the IVF server, eliminating the extra step of manually transferring and saving data. "Eliminating these manual steps saves significant time for our staff and improves the accuracy of assignment of the ultrasound data and images for capture by the electronic medical record. Our patients also benefit from shorter room turn-around time enabling us to get patients on to their daily appointments." said Dr. Opsahl.
Ultrasonix provides the winning combination for the Infertility and IVF Clinic: high quality 2D and 3D image collection, ease of use, streamlined workflow and advanced connectivity and data management.
