Ultrasonix Medical Corporation appoints Buhler as President and CEO

September 21, 2005 (Burnaby, BC) - Ultrasonix Medical Corporation, a company dedicated to Ultrasound, announces the appointment of Mr. John Buhler as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company.

Buhler brings extensive medical imaging and business leadership expertise to the Ultrasonix management team, stemming from a 23-year career with GE Healthcare and Diasonics VingMed Ultrasound. Buhler has a proven track record of building and leading world–class business teams that consistently achieve strong financial performance, operational efficiency and customer loyalty.

Buhler joined GE Healthcare's Ultrasound division in 1998, most recently serving as the Vice President and General Manager of Performance Technologies, a global GE division focused on high-growth ultrasound markets and compact technologies. From 2002 to 2004, he led GE's commercial operations throughout Asia delivering double-digit margin growth annually. Prior to his assignment in Asia, Buhler served as Vice President and General Manager of GE's Global Ultrasound Customer Services business doubling the size of the business in 2.5 years.
