Ultrasonix is heading up to Whistler, where the world class ski resort will be hosting the Canadian Critical Care Conference from Feb 22-24.  The three-day event includes presentations by speakers from around the world as well as workshops focusing on what’s new in critical care.

For over 60 years, the Post Graduate Assembly (PGA) of the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists (NYSSA) has continued to bring innovative, challenging and stimulating techniques for the ongoing education of anesthesiologists.  Ultrasonix will be in New York December 9-13 to join the PGA in one of the largest annual assemblies of anesthesiologists worldwide.  The meeting will include a variety of teaching techniques including lectures, interactive workshops, mini-workshops and more.

The Ultrasonix team is back from the 2011 MEDICA trade fair in Dusseldorf where we met many of our distributors from Europe, the Middle East and Africa.   We also showcased our new technology and connected with potential partners from around the globe.   If you weren’t able to make it to our booth to see the SonixTouch with SonixGPS, Medica has documented many of the booths with live video coverage from the show floor on its website.

Ultrasonix is bringing its ultrasound guidance technology to New Orleans for the 10^th Annual ASRA Pain Medicine Meeting & Workshops.  From November 17-20, a diverse group of pain physicians will meet to address the specialty’s practice gaps and underlying educational needs.  This year’s feature speaker is Dr. Rathmell, who will be presenting “The Evolution of the Field of Pain Medicine.” 

Ultrasonix is off to Dusseldorf, Germany to take part of one of the world’s largest trade fair events in the medical industry, MEDICA 2011.  From the 16^th to the 19^th of November, Over 4400 exhibitors will meet from over 110 countries to discuss current medical developments, new treatment possibilities and applications in the medical industry.  Click here to see an overview of some of the hot topics being addressed.  If you can’t make the trip to Germany don’t worry, you can still be a part of it by following their live coverage online.

Ultrasonix is off to the Windy City for the American Society of Anesthesiologists’ Annual Meeting taking place from October 15-19.  The ASA will draw anestheiologists from around the world to experience a wide-ranging educational program in the growing field.  The event will include workshops, information sessions, and lectures all focusing on the new trends and concepts in anesthesia.  Click here to see the full event schedule.

The ASA Annual Meeting will mark the introduction of the SonixTablet for point of care ultrasound system.  Equipped with SonixGPS needle guidance technology, it allows clinicians to clearly predict the needle’s trajectory during invasive procedures such as performing nerve blocks for local anesthesia.  Unlike any other technology out there, SonixGPS allows you to locate your target with the transducer and then select a needle direction to determine the safest angle for your patient.  See doctor’s reactions to the needle guidance technology in this video below.

Ultrasonix is heading down to foggy San Francisco this weekend to attend the world’s largest and most prestigious gathering of emergency medicine physicians, ACEP’s Scientific Assembly taking place from October 15-18.  Over the four days there will be more than 300 educational courses, interactive workshops, and hands on skills labs with an emphasis on the latest trends in Emergency Medicine.  See the following link for the course outline. We are especially excited for ACEP because we will be launching our SonixHub Community software platform.  The SonixHub software was initially designed to help Emergency Medicine physicians who were learning how to use ultrasound for exams to collect, store, grade and report.  Now that ultrasound is being used for a variety of applications, anesthesia departments, reproductive clinics and OB/GYN practices are all able to use SonixHub Community to reduce time, costs, and the amount of paper work associated with ultrasound.  And the best part is the software is free for up to 100 users!

At Ultrasonix, we are excited to be taking part in the annual meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine again this year in Orlando, Florida, October 15-19.  This year’s show will feature more than twenty post graduate course presentations, including “Ultrasound Imaging in Reproductive Medicine” by members of the Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women’s Health department at the University of Louisville (Sunday, October 16^th).  See the following link for more details on the presentations, you will need to fill out a brief registration form to see more details on the abstracts.  We will be showcasing the unique benefits SonixTouch and SonixTablet bring to reproductive medicine in island booth #2531, near the entrances.

If you won’t be making it to Florida next week but want to learn how ultrasound technology can improve workflow in a busy and successful fertility clinic, then you will be interested in this short video featuring doctors from the Pacific Fertility Center in San Francisco.  And by the way, kudos to the Pacific Fertility Center for running and regularly updating an interesting and informative blog.

This year’s ACEP Scientific Assembly took place in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort just south of the strip. It was great to see a considerable increase of attendees this year.
