ACEP Report
This year’s ACEP Scientific Assembly took place in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort just south of the strip. It was great to see a considerable increase of attendees this year.
One new product that got a lot of interest was the SonixDVR ultrasound exam recording feature.

SonixDVR, A Quiet Revolution in Digital Ultrasound Recording
In traditional ultrasound settings, practitioners install medical grade VCR’s or video recorders on each system to be able to record full exams. Exams are recorded on video tapes or other media, which need physical storage, and usually record video off an analog video feed. While this solution does the job, it’s costly and adds additional weight and bulkiness to the ultrasound machines, which further complicates workflow.
Ultrasonix Soccer Tournament Results
Yesterday, the Ultrasonix soccer team played their last game of the Corporate Champions Soccer tournament. Despite losing every game, moral was kept high by our supportive friends and families on the sidelines cheering us on. We did, however, have lots of fun and participation from staff, and that was the main goal for this corporate tournament; so in that aspect, we did achieve something!

SonixTOUCH wins Gold Award at Salmed 2010

EU Researcher's Forum
Tuesday saw our first EU Researcher’s Forum held in Munchen, Germany. Spawned from a smaller UK Researcher’s Forum last year, we thought we would expand the group to all of Europe; it proved to be very successful, with 30 persons attending. Company-wise, we premiered the new SonixDAQ parallel channel acquisition device, and also demonstrated the novel SonixGPS system for freehand needle guidance. Five great presentations were made from researcher’s using our systems, all covering different and unique topics.
